The designs of the enemies of Israel

«A Song. A Psalm. Of Asaph.» O God, do not keep quiet: let your lips be open and take no rest, O God. A song. A Psalm by Asaph. God, don’t keep silent. Don’t keep silent, and don’t be still, God.
For see! those who make war on you are out of control; your haters are lifting up their heads. For, behold, your enemies are stirred up. Those who hate you have lifted up their heads.
They have made wise designs against your people, talking together against those whom you keep in a secret place. They conspire with cunning against your people. They plot against your cherished ones.
They have said, Come, let us put an end to them as a nation; so that the name of Israel may go out of man's memory. “Come,” they say, “and let’s destroy them as a nation, that the name of Israel may be remembered no more.”
For they have all come to an agreement; they are all joined together against you: For they have conspired together with one mind. They form an alliance against you.
The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab and the Hagarites; The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab, and the Hagrites;
Gebal and Ammon and Amalek; the Philistines and the people of Tyre; Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre;
Assur is joined with them; they have become the support of the children of Lot. (Selah.) Assyria also is joined with them. They have helped the children of Lot. Selah.

Heartfelt prayer for their defeat

Do to them what you did to the Midianites; what you did to Sisera and Jabin, at the stream of Kishon: Do to them as you did to Midian, as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the river Kishon;
Who came to destruction at En-dor; their bodies became dust and waste. who perished at Endor, who became as dung for the earth.
Make their chiefs like Oreb and Zeeb; and all their rulers like Zebah and Zalmunna: Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb; yes, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna;
Who have said, Let us take for our heritage the resting-place of God. who said, “Let us take possession of God’s pasturelands.”
O my God, make them like the rolling dust; like dry stems before the wind. My God, make them like tumbleweed; like chaff before the wind.
As fire burning a wood, and as a flame causing fire on the mountains, As the fire that burns the forest, as the flame that sets the mountains on fire,
So go after them with your strong wind, and let them be full of fear because of your storm. so pursue them with your tempest, and terrify them with your storm.
Let their faces be full of shame; so that they may give honour to your name, O Lord. Fill their faces with confusion, that they may seek your name, Yahweh.
Let them be overcome and troubled for ever; let them be put to shame and come to destruction; Let them be disappointed and dismayed forever. Yes, let them be confounded and perish;
So that men may see that you only, whose name is Yahweh, are Most High over all the earth. that they may know that you alone, whose name is Yahweh, are the Most High over all the earth.
