The bad state of the wicked

«To the chief music-maker. Of the servant of the Lord. Of David.» The sin of the evil-doer says in his heart, There is no fear of the Lord before his eyes. For the Chief Musician. By David, the servant of Yahweh. An oracle is within my heart about the disobedience of the wicked: “There is no fear of God before his eyes.”
For he takes comfort in the thought that his sin will not be uncovered and hated. For he flatters himself in his own eyes, too much to detect and hate his sin.
In the words of his mouth are evil and deceit; he has given up being wise and doing good. The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit. He has ceased to be wise and to do good.
He gives thought to evil on his bed; he takes a way which is not good; he is not a hater of evil. He plots iniquity on his bed. He sets himself in a way that is not good. He doesn’t abhor evil.

The goodness of God

Your mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens, and your strong purpose is as high as the clouds. Your loving kindness, Yahweh, is in the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
Your righteousness is like the mountains of God; your judging is like the great deep; O Lord, you give life to man and beast. Your righteousness is like the mountains of God. Your judgments are like a great deep. Yahweh, you preserve man and animal.
How good is your loving mercy, O God! the children of men take cover under the shade of your wings. How precious is your loving kindness, God! The children of men take refuge under the shadow of your wings.
The delights of your house will be showered on them; you will give them drink from the river of your pleasures. They shall be abundantly satisfied with the abundance of your house. You will make them drink of the river of your pleasures.
For with you is the fountain of life: in your light we will see light. For with you is the spring of life. In your light shall we see light.
O let there be no end to your loving mercy to those who have knowledge of you, or of your righteousness to the upright in heart. Oh continue your loving kindness to those who know you, your righteousness to the upright in heart.
Let not the foot of pride come against me, or the hand of the evil-doers put me out of my place. Don’t let the foot of pride come against me. Don’t let the hand of the wicked drive me away.
There the workers of evil have come down: they have been made low, and will not be lifted up. There the workers of iniquity are fallen. They are thrust down, and shall not be able to rise.
