The divisions of the priests and Levites

Now the divisions into which the sons of Aaron were grouped were these: the sons of Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar. Now these are the divisions of the sons of Aaron. The sons of Aaron; Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
But Nadab and Abihu came to their end before their father, and had no children; so Eleazar and Ithamar did the work of priests. But Nadab and Abihu died before their father, and had no children: therefore Eleazar and Ithamar executed the priest's office.
And David, with Zadok of the sons of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, made distribution of them into their positions for their work. And David distributed them, both Zadok of the sons of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, according to their offices in their service.
And there were more chiefs among the sons of Eleazar than among the sons of Ithamar; and this is how they were grouped: of the sons of Eleazar there were sixteen, all heads of families; and of the sons of Ithamar, heads of families, there were eight. And there were more chief men found of the sons of Eleazar than of the sons of Ithamar; and thus were they divided. Among the sons of Eleazar there were sixteen chief men of the house of their fathers, and eight among the sons of Ithamar according to the house of their fathers.
So they were put into groups, by the Lord's decision, one with another; for there were rulers of the holy place and rulers of the house of God among the sons of Eleazar and the sons of Ithamar. Thus were they divided by lot, one sort with another; for the governors of the sanctuary, and governors of the house of God, were of the sons of Eleazar, and of the sons of Ithamar.
And Shemaiah, the son of Nethanel the scribe, who was a Levite, put down their names in writing, the king being present with the rulers, and Zadok the priest, and Ahimelech, the son of Abiathar, and the heads of families of the priests and the Levites; one family being taken for Eleazar and then one for Ithamar, and so on. And Shemaiah the son of Nethaneel the scribe, one of the Levites, wrote them before the king, and the princes, and Zadok the priest, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, and before the chief of the fathers of the priests and Levites: one principal household being taken for Eleazar, and one taken for Ithamar.
Now the first name to come out was that of Jehoiarib; the second Jedaiah, Now the first lot came forth to Jehoiarib, the second to Jedaiah,
The third Harim, the fourth Seorim, The third to Harim, the fourth to Seorim,
The fifth Malchijah, the sixth Mijamin, The fifth to Malchijah, the sixth to Mijamin,
The seventh Hakkoz, the eighth Abijah, The seventh to Hakkoz, the eighth to Abijah,
The ninth Jeshua, the tenth Shecaniah, The ninth to Jeshuah, the tenth to Shecaniah,
The eleventh Eliashib, the twelfth Jakim, The eleventh to Eliashib, the twelfth to Jakim,
The thirteenth Huppah, the fourteenth Jeshebeab, The thirteenth to Huppah, the fourteenth to Jeshebeab,
The fifteenth Bilgah, the sixteenth Immer, The fifteenth to Bilgah, the sixteenth to Immer,
The seventeenth Hezir, the eighteenth Happizzez, The seventeenth to Hezir, the eighteenth to Aphses,
The nineteenth Pethahiah, the twentieth Jehezkel, The nineteenth to Pethahiah, the twentieth to Jehezekel,
The twenty-first Jachin, the twenty-second Gamul, The one and twentieth to Jachin, the two and twentieth to Gamul,
The twenty-third Delaiah, the twenty-fourth Maaziah. The three and twentieth to Delaiah, the four and twentieth to Maaziah.
So they were put into their different groups, to take their places in the house of the Lord, in agreement with the rules made by Aaron their father, as the Lord, the God of Israel, had given him orders. These were the orderings of them in their service to come into the house of the LORD, according to their manner, under Aaron their father, as the LORD God of Israel had commanded him.
And of the rest of the sons of Levi: of the sons of Amram, Shubael; of the sons of Shubael, Jehdeiah. And the rest of the sons of Levi were these: Of the sons of Amram; Shubael: of the sons of Shubael; Jehdeiah.
Of Rehabiah; of the sons of Rehabiah, Isshiah the chief. Concerning Rehabiah: of the sons of Rehabiah, the first was Isshiah.
Of the Izharites, Shelomoth; of the sons of Shelomoth, Jahath. Of the Izharites; Shelomoth: of the sons of Shelomoth; Jahath.
And the sons of Hebron: Jeriah the chief, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, Jekameam the fourth. And the sons of Hebron; Jeriah the first, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, Jekameam the fourth.
The sons of Uzziel, Micah; of the sons of Micah, Shamir. Of the sons of Uzziel; Michah: of the sons of Michah; Shamir.
The brother of Micah, Isshiah; of the sons of Isshiah, Zechariah. The brother of Michah was Isshiah: of the sons of Isshiah; Zechariah.
The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi; the sons of Jaaziah. The sons of Merari were Mahli and Mushi: the sons of Jaaziah; Beno.
The sons of Merari: of Jaaziah, Shoham and Zaccur and Ibri. The sons of Merari by Jaaziah; Beno, and Shoham, and Zaccur, and Ibri.
Of Mahli: Eleazar, who had no sons. Of Mahli came Eleazar, who had no sons.
Of Kish: the sons of Kish, Jerahmeel. Concerning Kish: the son of Kish was Jerahmeel.
And the sons of Mushi: Mahli and Eder and Jerimoth. These were the sons of the Levites by their families. The sons also of Mushi; Mahli, and Eder, and Jerimoth. These were the sons of the Levites after the house of their fathers.
Selection was made of these in the same way as of their brothers the sons of Aaron, David the king being present, with Zadok, and Ahimelech, and the heads of families of the priests and of the Levites; the families of the chief in the same way as those of his younger brother. These likewise cast lots over against their brethren the sons of Aaron in the presence of David the king, and Zadok, and Ahimelech, and the chief of the fathers of the priests and Levites, even the principal fathers over against their younger brethren.
